[open] somnus & YOU; interactive dream
Who: somnus and you
Which: Interactive Dream, just one, open
What: ITS SPOOKS SEASON NOW so
Warnings: themes of shadow/darkness but emphasis on moving forward. also dreamotion practice.
[ The dream manifests from the depths of sleep and memory, shadow and void, and you may find that the moment gravity recalls its function, your form touches down onto the smooth, cool surface of black marble. The stone base outstretches before you in a long, solitary path, and before your feet is a single gold-and-black metal epitaph with the numeral I on it. A short way ahead, another II marks another epitaph upon the ground. Beyond that, a III, with the rest remaining obscured by distance alone. Whether this pattern is an arbitrary count or a warning for something more, the dream gives no other indication, perhaps purposefully stripped of any further design.
While no walls line the path, it seems you cannot stray from it. Despite the apparent vastness of the hall, all sounds are cut short, swallowed by the overwhelming pitch of blackness beyond, blanketing all in mournful silence. The only other curiosity the dream holds is the faint scent of wheat, of harvest carried by a crisp breeze, that seems to originate from far down the hall.
Somnus is there beside you as you appear within this dream of his, and in acknowledgment, he dips his helm in your direction. There are but two options: force an exit with the practice of dreammotion or proceed. For now, however: ]
Let us walk.

Let us walk.

[ Startled as she was by his silent appearance, Alisaie kept her bearing. Her eyes fixed on the person beside her. Said no other words beyond that, keeping her wits about her.
Another dream, mayhaps? The last time she done something similar was a simulation. Was this what it's like being in the depth of someone's subconscious? Though, she was expecting something more than darkness, shadows and such in between.
However, Somnus appeared to be quite a cryptic person. She's never seen the face behind the armor that he wore. He was eccentric at most. ]
Aye, there isn't much else to do at the moment. [ yet, anyway ]

A chill settles within the hall, enough that she may be able to see her own breath.
Somnus apparently remains unaffected by this shift. He is a suit of armor, after all, but it's at this point he speaks again: ]
Have you practiced with dreamotion?

[ She makes note of everything as they continue their walk. She can feel the temperature getting cooler and cooler as they venture further.
There's almost a strange chill as she continues to survey their current location. ]
Not as much as I'd like but I have been since your assistance a while back.

[ As they pass yet another epitaph, and just beyond it, a figure appears, pale without shine, hazy as their form manifests from the darkness. Although phantasmal in appearance, they are clad in a glorious, decorate set of armor, not unlike Somnus' own. The figure appears to straighten to attention as their presence...
Somnus' helm terms to regard them, briefly, at which point they lower their beak-like helm in response, and he moves on. ]
Can you break through this wall?
[ As soon as they pass the figure, they vanish into shadow as if forgotten to time. Somnus appears unaffected, looking forward. ]
no subject
Mayhaps. I don't see why not. It's not as if I can simply break through this this right now.
[ It might be a good opportunity to see how dreamscapes truly work and how to navigate a dreamscape that is different from a simulation. She's not sure how similar simulation is to the real situation.
The way it works fascinates her as she glances around, the ornately dressed figure in front of her. She almost narrows her eyes, while keeping a hand on her rapier strapped at her side. When it seems like the ornately dressed figure doesn't attack, she proceeds to follow after Somnus after his regards. ]
Depends on what kind of wall. I don't think it's impossible to break it with enough force.

His tone, however, remains unchanged: serious and unperturbed, even as the wraiths vanish into nothing. Somnus pauses in his walk, turning to look at her when she says it may be possible. If there is a way to break from it, then they should try. Thus: ]
Show me.
[ ...Curiously, it seems that he bids her to try because he cannot break from these walls, himself. ]
battle descriptions I struggle with XD
I'll give it a try.
[ Stability with dreamotion seems to be something she'll have to focus a little harder to control. There's a small breeze conjuring from her feet up awards, as spectral blades take form. It's close enough to Fleche, but not quite just that. The hue is a little red as she aims it at the wall first wall and releases. ]

But it holds.
Somnus turns his attention down the hall. ] We have no choice, then.
no subject
The wall doesn't seem to crack easily. She's about to think a little harder but is stopped when she hears Somnus' voice. ]
Let me try one more time. If I can concentrate a little more, mayhaps there will be more than a ripple.
[ She does look down the hall but doesn't move. ]

Back then, he had assisted her. If she succeeds here, it will be as if they've come full circle. ]
Very well.
[ He stands straighter, observing. ]
sorry this is so late! Feel free to drop as needed! but I am happy to backtag slowly!
Mayhap, it's glowing with more energy than she had anticipated, but she's determined. He did help her in the past and even though he never asked for anything in return, Alisaie owed it to him for his brief guidance. Without wasting anymore of their time, there's more determination in her eyes as she sends the blades crashing into the walls again. It was more aggressive than the last attempt. ]
--> handwave rest
In that same moment, the entire realm wavers, the ground gives way, and the dream begins to collapse.
Wakefulness will take them next, bringing them both into reality, thereby ending the dream. ]
sounds good!
